Nice Profit on a Classic Lonnie Deal

Just like everyone else it seems, I read Deals on Wheels by Lonnie Scruggs and decided to give it a try. This, of course, was after going back and forth with the idea, going to look at some homes, and thinking, “I just can’t believe how some people can live.”

I went out and saw some really dumpy mobile homes and thought to myself, “There is no way I’m going to get stuck with this mess.” Well, low and behold, there it was: A nice, clean, older mobile home (1971) in a really nice park. The seller was asking $1,000 for it, and I picked it up for $850.

I paid a lady $100 to go in and clean it from top to bottom. With all the other money I put in with the lot rent, title cost, and taxes, I was in it for $1,700.

On the first day and the first call on my ad in the paper, I sold it for $4,450 with $1,000 down, $250.03 a month for 13 months. The best part about it was that I really felt good because I sold it to a really nice couple just moving to the area who really loved the place. I knew I could help them get started with a nice home and affordable payments.
