I just wanted to write and thank Lonnie Scruggs and CRE Online for helping me get started. First, I want to say that I’m one of the biggest skeptics you’ll ever meet. But after ordering and going through Lonnie’s material, I did my first deal!

I bought Deals on Wheels back in early part of 2002. I did research by driving the speed bumps in mobile home parks in my area for a couple months. We finally realized we needed to just quit talking and do something.

I have wanted to get into single family homes, but they just don’t have the bang for the buck that multi-units do–or so I thought. I sent out a first mailing of letters to people with a Notice of Default on May 21st and decided to drop in on a couple of the people. I found several people who might be interested, if I follow up over the next few weeks.

Just wanted to let everyone know about my day. I just closed on a 4-bedroom, 2-bath single-family house on five acres with five rented mobile homes on the land. Original asking price was close to $100,000. I saw an ad that said, “just reduced.” Their buyer fell through at the bank, and they wanted to sell quick.

I already owned eight properties with a partner when I decided that I would like to venture on my own in December 2001. I was finishing my finance degree, working as a server at a Longhorn’s Steak House, and in my first year of marriage. I was not pursuing real estate investing because I just didn’t feel I could make any money, since I would be moving in four months.

I’ve been visiting CRE Online for about a year now, and I can’t tell you how motivating it is to me. Last year, we finally decided to take the plunge and buy our first real estate investment.

I wanted to give my thanks to Creative Real Estate Online for providing a place for everyone to learn how to do whatever they want in real estate investing. I started doing research when I was in high school. Then I moved out to Florida and kept doing research while I worked as a loan processor.

A local real estate agent contacted me recently. He had heard that I could possibly solve his problem. I told him that if I were able to solve his problem he would have to refer me to other clients. He said sure.

The How to Get Lenders Fighting to Give You Money workshop was the best thing I’ve ever done. I am a huge skeptic on these types of things and am usually reluctant to pay for them. But something caught my interest, so I called Ed Garcia.

In 1998, I built my own home on ten acres with a mortgage of $84,000 on four of those acres and the home. In 2000, I sold five acres for $13,500, leaving me with a mortgage balance of $70,500

I thought I would take the time to tell you a bit. I went to the CRE Online Convention in Atlanta. I listened to all and bought Ron LeGrand’s material. After several months of preparing and learning, I did a deal.

I should have written this a long time ago. I have been reading the CRE Online website for a couple years or so. There are several areas of real estate investing I am going to work on, and all of them I learned about from this site.

I wanted to thank Creative Real Estate Online for being a extremely good source of information and motivation. We thoroughly enjoy reading through all the information here and learning from it. We finally made it and have our first success story to share.

I made an offer on a duplex that was trashed by one of the tenants, and the owners lived 40 miles away. Apparently, they were overwhelmed by the “problems” caused by the tenants.The asking price was $79,000.

I have been coming to CRE Online for over two years. I have read books, talked to people, partnered with people, and until this past Friday, I have never done a deal. I was the ultimate procrastinator. Well here it is, and if you think you have seen all the reasons a person can be motivated, then read on because I still cannot believe it.

I wanted to share a recent success story of mine. After reading a few books on creative real estate investing, I made the decision to try and go for my first deal in real estate. I was skeptical because I live in one of the most expensive counties in the U.S.

I started back in July 2002 trying to learn about creative real estate investing, but I did not go out and make any offers until February 2003. It was not until this week that I got my first deal done and under my belt. One evening, about three weeks ago, I was discussing with my wife the fact that I was frustrated with the “business.”

My name is Andy Martin. I am a Project Manager for a construction company. I work full-time and run a window cleaning company on the side while looking for houses to rehab and flip.

My story starts out in January 2001. I was 25, sick of my job, and hungry for money. I ordered Carleton Sheets, the course arrived, and I completed the course in one day. About an hour after completing the course, I hit the Internet. While searching for the Carleton Sheets website I stumbled upon CRE Online. This was not good, seeing as though I was now obligated to review every last page of this site.

Two years ago, in Spring 2001, I was a first year law student at Fordham Law School in New York City. I really enjoyed law school, but I was beginning to realize there was a decent chance that the 80+ hours per week I would be working when I graduated (if I got a job at all) would only have me bring home around $50K per year.

I’ve been reading and learning all I can on this site. After making the decision six months ago to start investing in real estate, I just closed my first deal that netted $13k. I’m thrilled to say the least! CRE Online has been an excellent source of information and has helped me become more creative in my thinking and putting together deals.

What a RUSH! After starting my investing career back in 1998 and acquiring 13 properties, which I still have, I was recently introduced to a real estate agent that lived in MY BOX! He understood almost everything that I wanted to do. Finally!

I just wanted to tell you about the deal that I got yesterday. A motivated seller has a house in great area in my community.

I have read every one of the success stories posted on this site and most of the discussion threads. I thought I should give back by sharing a success with you. I have been investing in real estate for about four years part time. I have focused on duplexes up to six-plexes. I have had great experiences with them and made a GREAT return on my money.
